Change Tracking Page Permalink in Shopify

Overview

This article will provide a step-by-step guide on how to change tracking page permalink.

By default, the tracking page on the Rush app can be accessed via the following link, also shown in the image below:

http://<your—domain>/a/track</your—domain>


The process of changing the tracking page permalink can be summarized into these sections:

  • Update Rush proxy
  • Update Rush app permalink

Warning

It is not recommended to change the tracking page permalink, because if both steps are not set up correctly, the tracking page may become unavailable. However, if required, this article will provide information to do so.

Step-by-step guide

Update App Proxy URL


To update Rush proxy, follow the given steps:

  1. Select  Settings from the navigation sidebar on the left.
  2. Select Apps and sales channels from the navigation sidebar on the left.
  3. From the list of Installed apps, click on the Rush app.

  4. After getting to the Rush app page, click on Customize URL located in the App proxy section.pasted image 0 (1)-1
  5. A pop-up will appear on the screen.pasted image 0 (2)
  6. Click on the dropdown menu. To update the URL:
  7. Select from the list of supported URLs.
  8. Specify the text to be included in permalink.pasted image 0 (3)
  9. Click Save to make the changes.

A toast message will appear on the screen indicating that the URL has been updated. The next step is to update the permalink.

Note

Shopify provides the above-mentioned options by default for different types of pages.

Update the Permalink

Once the URL has been updated, the next step is to update the permalink in the Rush app. Follow the steps below:

  1. Open the Rush app.
  2. Click on the Tracking Page from the navigation sidebar on the left.
  3. Click on the Customize button
  4. Scroll down to the Tracking Page URL widget
    1. From the Default tracking page URL dropdown, select the new URL configured in the previous section. 
    2. Similarly, specify the text field value.

The Custom Tracking page URL has been updated.

Confirmation

To ensure that the tracking page URL works fine, try opening the updated tracking page permalink in a new tab.

Note

If the new permalink does not open the Rush Tracking page, the settings will change back to default automatically. Contact support for further assistance.
