We offer flexible integration with Shopify in terms of order fulfillment and tracking information.

Another feature we provide is sending tracking events and triggers to Shopify.

The focus of this article is on how Rush can directly update tracking information inside your Shopify order information, while the Send shipping tracking events to Shopify will send the latest shipment status updates to the Shopify system.

Where is the tracking information available and visible?

By default, Rush replaces the tracking number link to point directly to your custom tracking page. This means all your third-party apps can use that information, including Shopify, and send the custom tracking page link to your customers.

Your customer will also see the updated tracking link on the order status page:

As well as inside your native Shopify email notifications:

E.g. 👉 Delivered email:

But you're NOT limited to only sending your customers to your custom-branded tracking page. Below we're providing a variety of options to choose from that best suit your needs.

Fulfillments tracking info settings

You have 5 options to pick from by going to the Shipments tab > Shipment Settings and changing the Fulfillments tracking info settings.

Do nothing - Rush will not update any information related to fulfillment tracking links information.

Tracking number link leads to the branded tracking page - default option, updating just the tracking link to lead to the Rush custom tracking page.

Tracking number link leads to the original carrier tracking page - update all links to lead to the original carrier tracking page if we are able to match it. It will also update the carrier name.

Update carrier name, tracking link, and number based on last-mile carrier information - this option is available only when you are doing global (international) shipments, and we are able to pick the last-mile carrier. If we do so, we update the Shopify fulfillment with the last-mile carrier tracking information.

--------------

Note: This option will also replace the global original shipping number and this action is irreversible. This also will result in taking two shipments of your quota, rather than 1. As we will be tracking the original global and later the last-mile carrier information.

--------------

Update carrier name, tracking number based on last-mile carrier information, but KEEP THE ORIGINAL CARRIER TRACKING LINK - this option is available only when you are doing global (international) shipments, and we are able to pick the last-mile carrier. If we do so, we will update the Shopify fulfillment with the last-mile carrier information.

--------------

Note: This option will also replace the global original shipping number and this action is irreversible. This also will result in taking two shipments of your quota, rather than 1. As we'll be tracking the global (original) and later the last-mile carrier information.
--------------

Send Shopify shipping update - by default unchecked, is an option to trigger "Shopify shipping update" email every time Rush changes the tracking number. We suggest you leave this option unchecked.

Last-mile carrier example

Note if you are not sure what is the last-mile carrier - read Last-Mile carrier.

As the first 3 options are quite clear, here is an example of what will happen if you choose between the two options:

  • Update carrier name, tracking link, and number based on last-mile carrier information
  • Update carrier name, tracking number based on last-mile carrier information, but keep tracking page link

Let's say you had fulfilled this order with YunExpress: YT2109021272056141

After some time Rush will pick the information and process it, and you will see that it will have USPS as last-mile carrier:

Our system, in this case, will update the carrier name, tracking number & link directly inside order information.

As noted earlier:

  • This will happen only we are able to take the last-mile carrier information;
  • This is an irreversible action, which will override your original tracking number, so we will not be able to return it back;
  • This will charge you twice - once for the global tracking number, once for the last-mile carrier number but it will benefit your customers directly and improve their experience and satisfaction.
